Minister of Finance and Treasury Ahmed Munawwar has met with President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Takehiko Nakao on the sidelines of the 51st ADB Annual Meeting held in Philippines.
During the meeting, the Finance Minister and the President of ADB discussed on how the institute can provide additional finance for development through concessional loans for infrastructure projects in Maldives.
Moreover, the Finance Minister had a productive discussion with Director General of ADB Hun Kim on finding technical solutions for ongoing projects initiated by ADB in Maldives. In addition, the Minister met with Vice President of ADB Wencai Zhang and discussed the commitment to increase funding for developing economies such as Maldives.
During these meetings, the Maldivian Minister delivered information on the latest updates of infrastructure projects conducted in the country and thanked ADB for the generous support towards the projects.
