Maldives takes part in meeting on Sustainable Consumption and Production

Maldives has taken part in a panel discussion on 'SCP and plastic pollution in the ocean' at Expert Group Meeting on Sustainable Consumption and Production' in New York.

Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Maldives to the United Nations at New York Mariyam Midhfa Naeem represented Maldives as a panelist at this session. Midhfa shared case studies from Maldives on combating ocean plastics at the discussion which was attended by other distinguished women panelists.

This meeting is an expert group meeting with a focus on SDG 12, responsible consumption and production, which is one of the SDGs to be reviewed in depth at the 2018 session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF).
