Chinese embassy organises a China-Maldives Friendship Open Day

The Chinese Embassy in Maldives has organised a China-Maldives Friendship Open Day, with a food exhibition showcasing the Chinese cuisine.

The activities of the China-Maldives Friendship Open Day kicked off with a visit of students studying Chinese language to the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, where these students witnessed the progress of the construction work. In addition, the event which was carried out from 1600 hours to 1800 hours boasted a food exhibition, which showcased Chinese cuisine to the visitors.

In an exclusive interview with PSM News, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Maldives Yang Yin said, the event which was carried out under the belt and road initiative aims to raise awareness about China and the belt and road initiative in Maldives. Yang Yin revealed that numerous such events would be carried out in this month as well which would enrich the bond between China and Maldives.

The Chinese Embassy in Maldives revealed that they aim to conduct such events in other parts of the country as well.

The exhibition attracted both local and foreign visitors, who expressed that such events are crucial to develop the bond between China and Maldives.

The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road or the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a development strategy proposed by the Chinese government that focuses on connectivity and cooperation between Eurasian countries.
