President sends message of condolence to Indian Prime Minister

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of condolence to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, following the recent dust storms in various parts of India.
The President’s message stated he received news of the dust storm in various parts of India which caused the loss of innocent lives and injury to many people with great shock and sadness. Furthermore, President prayed for success in the rescue and recovery operations and wished for strength during the tragedy. President extended deepest sympathies to the Prime Minister, the government and the people of India, on behalf of the Government and the people of Maldives during this time of national distress.
President assured the Government and the people of Maldives stand in solidarity with you and the people of India, in coming to terms with this tragedy. On conclusion, President conveyed sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
Moreover, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim extended condolences to the Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj. In the message, Minister stated news of the devastating dust storms in various states of India was learnt with deep sadness.
The Minister also extended profound sympathy to the Government and the people of Maldives during this time of national distress; especially to the families of the victims and wished for a speedy recovery to the injured. On conclusion, the Minister wished recovery efforts every success.
