Government reveals plans to develop more cultural centres

Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer has revealed plans to develop numerous cultural centres of Maldives in foreign countries.
The economic development of the country is reflected on the lives of Maldivians traveling and residing abroad, Tourism Minister Zameer said speaking at a special ceremony held to inaugurate the social park developed at Maldives Educational and Cultural Centre in Sri Lanka. Minister Zameer noted President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom pays great importance in instilling the true aspects and principles of Islam to the younger generation of the country residing abroad.
Noting the number of Maldivians travelling abroad for education and health purposes has drastically increased over the years, Minister Zameer said with the advancement Maldives is achieving, the trend is expected to continue.
The social park developed at Maldives Educational and Cultural Centre in Sri Lanka is funded and developed by the government of Maldives. In addition, the government has developed a futsal ground, a bashi ball court and a hand ball ground in the premises.
