Housing Ministry brings changes to housing application form distribution hours

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has revealed the changes brought to the distribution hours of the application forms of the housing units to be leased as part of the Hiyaa housing project.
Forms would be distributed from Sunday to Thursday from 1030 to 1330, according to Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure. In addition, forms would be distributed from 2100 to 2300 on Saturdays.
While forms distribution commenced from 6th of this month, the application window for the Hiya housing units would be opened from 3rd June to 31st July.
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim launched the biggest housing project in Maldives, which is being implemented in the land reclaimed under Phase 2 of the Hulhumale' development project. The housing project is expected to cater to the housing needs of a population of about 80,000.
Applications for 12 categories of the social housing units are available under this opportunity, according to Housing Ministry. The categories are; 1,000 flats for civil servants, 1,000 flats for married couples between the ages of 18 and 40, one thousand flats for people originating from Male' city, 144 flats for those registered in the Male' Municipality Special Register, 475 flats for doctors and nurses and 625 flats for teachers.
In addition 500 flats have been allocated for single parents, 200 flats for people with disabilities and their families, 600 flats for officers of MNDF and Maldives Police Service, 300 flats for people who could not pay for the TATA flats developed in capital city and 256 flats for residents evacuated from the west of Maafannu ward to develop spacious housing units.
