Government prioritises empowering women: Gender Minister

Minister of Gender and Family Zeneesha Shaheed Zaki has emphasised the priority given by the current administration to empower women. Gender Equality Law has paved way to empower women, stated Gender Minister Zeneesha Shaheed Zaki while addressing the closing ceremony of the basic electrician course for women held by State Electric Company Limited.
Noting there are many women who only completed GCE O'Level and A'Level, Minister Zeneesha noted many hurdles are faced by women to achieve higher studies and to focus on career building.
Minister also mentioned women working in technical areas are relatively low adding that government has planned various programmes and projects to empower women.
