PPM announces President Yameen as its candidate for the upcoming Presidential Election

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) announces President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom as its candidate for the upcoming Presidential Election.
The announcement was made by deputy leader of PPM Abdul Raheem Abdulla, at a press conference held after a party council meeting. Abdul Raheem Abdulla revealed the decision was made unanimously by all members of the council.

PPM supports the development and economic agenda initiated by President Yameen, according to Abdul Raheem. He said the ruling party believes President Yameen deserves a second term in office to continue the rapid advancement of the country.
PPM is the first party to announce a presidential candidate for the upcoming election.
