Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed over 18,000 patients sought medical attention within the past two weeks following symptoms of flu and influenza. Cases of flu, cold and influenza are still relatively high, according to HPA.
Noting current flu outbreak is caused due to an influenza virus, HPA urged to stay vigilant for an outbreak of flu and influenza with all necessary precautions taken. HPA advises to take precautionary measures like covering mouth while coughing and sneezing, paying attention to personal hygiene and avoiding public gatherings.
The agency has also advised the public to undergo vaccination to avoid catching flu.
