Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has stated more than 54,000 tonnes of waste has been collected from Male' in Ramadan.
During Ramadan 400 tonnes of waste were sent to Thilafushi per day during Ramadan, according to Head of WAMCO Household Collection Mohamed Shaan. Moreover, Shaan stated the waste collected from constructional sites also has been increased comparing to other months. He requested the public to use the services provided by WAMCO instead of dumping waste on the road.
WAMCO has arranged two waste collection sessions following the month of Ramadan and the increased amount of daily waste from households.
