Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has revealed over USD 129,000 was spent to develop the Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo Island of Kaafu Atoll in the past four years.
Health Minister Nazim stated the situation of the centre was very poor and atrocious when President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom assumed office, at a ceremony held by the Maldives Girl Guides Association to handover kitchen equipment to the Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo island in Kaafu atoll, adding numerous efforts were made for the betterment of the facility in the past four years. The Health Minister mentioned that President Yameen has shown a good example in including every individual in the society despite the differences.
The Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo Island in Kaafu atoll accommodates around 200 people.
