Foreign Minister meets Environment Minister of Japan

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim has met Minister of the Environment of Japan Masaharu Nakagawa, at the Ministry of Environment of Japan.
During the meeting both Ministers noted the positive developments taking place throughout the world to mitigate and adapt to the risks of climate change. The two ministers discussed further cooperation within the context of Japan’s Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM) on reduction of low carbon emission and renewable energy.
Moreover, Minister Asim thanked the Government of Japan for the numerous assistance extended to the Maldives over the years to promote the clean energy in the Maldives.
