Foreign Minister attends reception organized by Embassy of Maldives in Japan

The Maldives Embassy in Tokyo held a Maldives Business Reception for the Japanese businesses involved in the tourism industry, to coincide with the ongoing official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives Dr. Mohamed Asim.

Leading tour operators and travel agents and airline representatives in Japan were among the attendees. Minister Asim graced the occasion as the chief guest. Speaking at the reception, Minister Asim spoke of the close bilateral relations, particularly touched on the growing people to people contact between the two countries. In this regard, Minister Asim highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of tourism, and activities through the Commercial Unit of the Embassy.

The Ambassador of Maldives to Japan Ibrahim Uvais, in his remarks stated, one of the major roles at the Embassy of Maldives in Japan is to help facilitate business to business connections between Maldivian and Japanese companies.

Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary Bilateral and Mr. Ahmed Fazeel, Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives also attended the reception.
