HRCM to survey elderly & disabled population of Addu City

Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has decided to survey the elderly and disabled population of Addu City. The survey will be conducted in assistance with Addu City Council and Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO), stated HRCM, adding the survey will be held in all districts of the city.
HRCM highlighted the main purpose of the survey is to acquire about elderly and disabled population in Addu and to ensure whether they are guaranteed of their rights and legal protection. The survey also aims to establish a system to monitor their situation more frequently, according to HRCM.
The three day long survey is scheduled to commence on June 25. HRCM will obtain information from over 1,500 residents of the second most populous city in Maldives.
