JSC recommends appointing Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi as the Chief Justice

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has recommended to appoint Supreme Court Judge Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi as the Chief Justice of Maldives. JSC also recommended Judge Abdulla Didi and Judge Abdul Ghani Mohamed from the High Court to the Supreme Court bench.
Dr. Ahmed Abdulla is a PhD graduate on International law and has been on the bench of Supreme Court since 2010. Abdulla Didi has been a Judge of High Court since 2015 and Abdul Ghani Mohamed was appointed as a Judge of High Court in 2004.
The President should appoint the Chief Judge and the bench of Supreme Court with the approval of the parliament, according to the Constitution of Maldives.
