Mohamed Hussain Shareef to be appointed As Non-Residential Ambassador to Russia

Parliament of Maldives has endorsed Mohamed Husain Shareef as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Russia. The decision to appoint Mohamed Hussain Shareef to the post was endorsed with a majority of 36 members that participated in the parliament sitting.
Mohamed Husain Shareef was nominated as the Non-Resident Ambassador for Russia and sent for consideration on June 25.
The Parliament approved Hussain Shareef for the post after National Security Committee conducted a review. Ambassador Shareef will still hold his current post as the Ambassador for Sri Lanka, even though he is appointed as the Non-Resident Ambassador for Russia.
Prior to his appointment as the Ambassador for Sri Lanka, Mohamed Hussain Shareef served as the Ambassador for Japan and as the Minister at President's Office.
