Judicial sector will be successful with collective effort: Chief Justice

Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi has called on collective efforts to establish a successful judicial sector in Maldives.
One main aim of celebrating a new judicial year is to monitor and assess the past year and to set goals for the new judicial year, the newly appointed Chief Justice Ahmed Abdulla Didi said while addressing the function held at Bandos Maldives to inaugurate Judicial Year 2018. Noting the judicial year was inaugurated in mid-year in the past two years, the Chief Justice expressed hope to begin the judiciary year in January beginning from 2019.
During the ceremony, a booklet compiled with the statistics of judicial sector in 2017 was launched by Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Areef. Moreover, a separate booklet compiled with concluded cases of 2017 was launched by Supreme Court Judge Adam Mohamed Abdulla.
The ceremony held to inaugurate the new judicial year was attended by Minister of Home Affairs Azleen Ahmed, Attorney General Mohamed Anil and Prosecutor General Aishath Bisam.
