Maldivian Blood Service establishes system to notify regular donors

Maldivian Blood Service has established a system to notify regular blood donors when they are fit to donate blood. Arrangements for an SMS notification were made to solve issues in attaining donors and to ease the process of donating blood, according to Maldivian Blood Service.
Most donors wait for a response from the facility, even though they are fit to donate blood again, Director of Maldivian Blood Service Zahmath stated speaking with PSM News. The new service will solve such issues and enable getting blood donations without any difficulties, expressed Zahmath. Moreover, she highlighted the challenges in attaining donors, adding efforts are underway to solve such issues.
33% of the regular donors initiate voluntarily by donating blood three months after their last donation date, according to statistics of Maldivian Blood Service.
