State Trading Organisation (STO) has launched a ready-mix concrete plant in Hulhumale'. The power mix concrete plant is the largest ready-mix concrete plant in Maldives and was officially launched by Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the Managing Director and CEO of STO Ahmed Shaheer.
The plant was developed in Hulhumale' as it is unable to cater to meet the demand of the public from the ready-mix concrete plant in Male' city, Ahmed Shaheer revealed speaking in the opening ceremony. Meanwhile, Minister Muizzu stated the development of the power mix plant will enhance the construction sector and ease the difficulties faced by the industry.
The plant located in Hulhumale' is capable of producing 60 cubic metres of concrete every hour.
The plant consists of a laboratory for slump and cube testing to increase the quality of concrete and to provide the best service to the customers, revealed STO.
STO opened the first ready-mix concrete plant in Male' in 2015.
