CASP-AP commences in Maldives

The Cooperative Aviation Security Programme-Asia Pacific (CASP-AP) has commenced in Maldives. CASP-AP is targeted towards the aviation authorities of the member countries.
Speaking in the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef Umar stressed the importance of the programme. Minister Shareef stated Maldives has established various aviation security plans with the assistance of the aviation security programme held last year.
Speaking with PSM News, Deputy Minister at Defence Ministry Thoriq Ali Luthfy stated Maldives got the chance to strengthen the relationship between the member countries and got the opportunity to enhance the aviation security of Maldives through the programme held at Equator Village of Addu City.
CASP-AP aims at assisting member countries in ensuring compliances with international conventions and guidance material related to aviation security, by enhancing the aviation security capabilities of the programme's participant member administrations.
