Dharumavantha Hospital will enhance economy of Maldives: Finance Minister

Minister of Finance and Treasury Ahmed Munawar has stated Dharumavantha Hospital will result in the enhancement of the economy of Maldives.
The government has invested a huge sum on the development of Dharumavantha Hospital, Finance Minister Ahmed Munawar said in an interview with PSM News and said he is pleased with the rapid development of the health sector. The finance minister said Maldives will be able to introduce medical tourism for the first time with the establishement of the facility. The hospital will bring a solution for the shortage of U.S. dollars in Maldives and will be able to provide the people with the best medical services, according to the minister.
While speaking with PSM News, Deputy CEO of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) Mohamed Rilwan said as part of the efforts to introduce medical tourism in Maldives, two apartments will be developed in the hospital premises. Moreover, according to Rilwan, 3 apartments will be developed in the hospital for VIP.
With 80% of the Dharumavantha Hospital has been completed, instalment of machinery is currently in progress. The USD 140 million project was contracted to Singapore's Chang Hua in March 2015.
