Religious scholars across Maldives have sent messages of endorsement for Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed who has been appointed as the running mate of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Many religious scholars in Maldives are in support of the decision, deputy leader of PPM Abdul Raheem Abdulla revealed while speaking at a press conference held at PPM Office. Abdul Raheem said Dr. Shaheem will resign from his current post as the Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives and sign for PPM.
The appointment was announced after the council of PPM unanimously endorsed the decision of the president.
