Finance Ministry launches “Bodu Bandeyrin”

Ministry of Finance and Treasury has launched a book on public finance history of the country.
The book titled ''Bodu Bandeyrin" was launched by first Permanent Secretary of finance ministry Ismail Shafeeq. ''Bodu Bandeyri'' is a name used in old times for people who are responsible for goods received by the state and those who supervise the government finances.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister of Finance and Treasury Ahmed Munawar highlighted the book has important information on the history of the ministry, its leaders and the important milestones achieved by those leaders. The objective of the book is to recognise the past contributions made by important figures, further noted the Minister.
Noting that finance sector of Maldives has a long history; Minister Munawar revealed plans to publish more books with historical information of the sector. In this regard, the minister added importance will be given to publishing speeches given by former ministers regarding state budgets.
Bodu Bandeyrin contains a compilation of information on 18 individuals who headed the public finance in Maldives, information regarding the finance sector and pictures.
