Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has stated that land to construct the new building of the institute has been finalised.
In a news conference, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said the government has finalised a land to construct a new permanent building of IUM with better facilities. Moreover, Dr. Shaheem revealed he held discussions with the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance of Saudi Arabia Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ash-Shaikh regarding the construction of the new university building. Dr. Shaheem said the minister assured assistance will be provided by Saudi Arabia in the development of the new building.
The first Islamic university in the Maldives, IUM, was inaugurated in 2015.
