New Ambassador of Yemen calls on Foreign Minister

Non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Maldives from Yemen Mohammed Motahar Alashabi has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Asim.
At a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Asim congratulated ambassador Mohammed on his appointment and expressed hope the historical ties between Maldives and Yemen will foster during his tenure. Minister Asim also expressed firm solidarity of the government of Maldives to the government of Yemen towards establishing peace in Yemen and in the region.
Furthermore, minister Asim and ambassador Mohammed exchanged views on further enhancing cooperation between both countries and reflected on ways for strengthening the existing ties especially in the areas of trade, investment and other areas of mutual interest.
Ambassador Mohammed assured the Minister of his willingness and commitment to work with the government of Maldives to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
