Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has revealed the official name for the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge will be Sinamale' Bridge.
The bridge connected Male’ city and Hulhule’ on July 10 and according to the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, the bridge will be inaugurated before the end of August. The USD 300 million project, contracted to CCCC Second Harbour Engineering Company, is the largest mega project ever conducted in Maldives.
The length of the bridge is 1.39 kilometres and the width is 20.3 meters with 4 lanes, two for four wheelers, one for motorcycles, and one for bicycle and pedestrians.
