Maldives receive USD 14.5 million from import duties in June

Maldives has received USD 14.5 million from import duties in June.
Revenue gained from the import duties increased up to 4 percent in last month compared to the amount gained in June of last year, according to the statistics of Maldives Customs Service. In this regard, the revenue gained in July of last year is USD 13.9 million.
The overall cost of the imports in June increased up to 23 percent compared to June of 2017, according to statistics. In this regard while goods worth USD 187.6 million was imported last year, goods worth USD 230.5 million was imported this year.
Moreover, revenue gained from the exports of Maldives in the month of June increased up to 46 percent compared to June of last year, according to the statistics of customs. In this regard, while goods worth USD 27.4 million was exported last year, goods worth USD 39.9 million was exported this year.
The main exports of Maldives are meat products and while 27 percent of the goods were exported in last month was to Germany, 11 percent of the goods were exported to US, France, and Thailand.
