IUM concludes 3rd International Conference on Islamic Awakening

Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has concluded the third International Conference on Islamic Awakening. The International Conference on Islamic Awakening was organised by IUM in collaboration with the International Institute of Islamic Thought.
43 research papers were presented on the topic, Thought, Culture and Civilisation in Building Peace, according to Islamic University of Maldives. Furthermore, IUM revealed, the papers included 37 papers from Maldives and 6 papers from international participants, adding the papers were presented on both Arab and English language.
Speaking after concluding the conference, Dean of Research and Publications of IUM Dr. Dheeba Moosa noted the importance of such international conferences to Maldives. Important papers will be included in the curriculum of the university, stated IUM.
The conference held under the theme, ''The role of Islamic thought, culture and civilisation in building peace, harmony and tolerance in South Asia'' was attended by over 200 religious scholars from 12 countries.
The international conference initiated in 2016 focuses on discussions and debates to establish and enhance the Islamic community, promote research based education system and to discuss on social and economic issues on an educational platform.
