President appoints member to Elections Commission

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Ali Nashath as a member to the Elections Commission of Maldives.

President Yameen presented the letter of appointment to Ali Nashath, at a ceremony held at the President's Office. The parliament approved the nomination of Ali Nashath unanimously, with 32 votes.

Prior to the presentation of the letter of appointment, Ali Nashath took the oath of office. The oath was administered by High Court Judge Shujau Usman.
