Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has opened registration for ITB Asia. ITB fair is to be held from October 17-18 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. Registration is open until August 16, according to MATATO.
MATATO has requested interested parties to submit a co-exhibitor registration form to the institution. Moreover, MATATO said participation costs USD 1,500 for resorts, hotels, airlines, guesthouses and travel agents and that every registered party will receive a two by two metre counter space along with one exhibitor badge but will have to pay USD 200 for every additional participant.
Now in its 11th year, ITB Asia is an annually held three day B2B trade show and convention for the travel industry. It is designed to become the primary event for the Asia Pacific travel industry, much like its parent event, ITB Berlin. Asia is the second largest regional source market for Maldives and has recorded significant growth over the past two years.
Despite falling numbers from China, South East Asia and South Asia posted strong gains in 2017, with arrivals increasing by 21.4% and 10.5% respectively. That growth is set to continue this year as well, as arrivals from South East Asia increased by 33.9% and South Asia by 6.3% in the first six months of the year.
