First group of pilgrims of MHC depart to Saudi Arabia

The first group of pilgrims from Maldives Hajj Corporation (MHC) has departed to Saudi Arabia. While the first group of 390 pilgrims has departed, the second group with 199 pilgrims will depart on Sunday.
The chairman of MHC Sheikh Mohamed Rasheed Ibrahim Rasheed is leading the Maldivian pilgrims this year. Speaking to media, Sheikh Mohamed Rasheed stated the government of Saudi Arabia grants quotas depending on the population of the country, adding it will amount to 400 quotas for Maldives.
However, Sheikh Mohamed Rasheed noted Saudi Arabia has granted a total of 2,000 quotas which shows the close ties Maldives and Saudi Arabia share.
