Foreign Minister sends sympathy following the flood in Kerala

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Asim sends a message to Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj conveying sympathy to the government and people of India.
In the message, Minister Asim said it was with deep sadness that he learnt about the loss of many lives and unprecedented crisis faced by several districts of Kerala, due to the devastating torrential rains and landslides. The foreign minister extended profound sympathy to the government and the friendly people of India at this time of distress. He also wished the recovery efforts success and commended the tenacity of the people of India during this time of crisis.
Dozens of people have died as heavy monsoon rains caused unprecedented levels of flooding in several parts of India's southern Kerala state. More than half of the 14 districts in the state have been put on high alert.
