EC warns action against forging ballot papers

Elections Commission of Maldives has warned action against forging and duplicating ballot papers of the upcoming presidential election. Elections Commission reminded that it is prohibited to forge any document that can be classified as a ballot paper.

The commission has been alerted that a document forged as the ballot paper, which incorporates a digital stamp of the commission's forged logo, is being circulated in social media, according to a statement published by the electoral body.

Condemning the act, the commission advised against any such actions. With the presidential election in the vicinity, the commission has taken measures to ensure the safety of candidates and to ensure a free, fair and credible election.
