State Electric Company (STELCO) has revealed plans to establish a 15-megawatt power station in Male' industrial village to provide electricity to the greater Male' region. Efforts are currently underway to open the bidding process, according to STELCO.
STELCO said the power station established will cater electricity services to buildings in the industrial village and the towers constructed in the southern area of Male' City. Moreover, STELCO noted major efforts are underway to ensure electricity services are uninterrupted to cater to the growing population of the city and the region.
Along with the project, STELCO has also revealed plans to establish a 200 megawatt power station in Thilafushi, which is an artificial island to the west of Male'.
