Parliamentary group leader of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik has expressed confidence that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will win 80% of the votes in the presidential election.
Speaking at a press conference held by PPM, Ahmed Nihan said Maldivians accept and support the development brought by President Yameen and it is seen from across Maldives. Nihan revealed the amount spent by the government for the development of islands is over USD 5.7 billion.
Moreover, Nihan said the welcome extended when the president arrives in islands prove the support of citizens which cannot be matched for the opposition coalition candidate. Noting President Yameen has established peace and security in the country during his tenure, Nihan expressed the importance of re-electing the president.
