24-hour electricity ensured in Dharavandhoo: Fenaka

Deputy Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Limited Mohamed Lam-aan has expressed electricity has been ensured for 24 hours in Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll upon completion of the new powerhouse.

Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the new powerhouse in Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll, Deputy Managing Director of Fenaka appreciated the efforts of the government in establishing electricity in all islands. Lam-aan noted President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has fulfilled his pledges along with the dreams of the citizens of Maldives. Moreover, Lam-aan expressed the complaints of the citizens of the island have now been solved with the completion of the new powerhouse.

In the past, electricity was provided to the island via a 200-kilowatt generator, a 100-kilowatt generator, a 400-kilowatt generator. With the new powerhouse, Fenaka Corporation will provide electricity to Dharavandhoo via a 600-kilowatt generator. The new powerhouse as developed at a cost of USD 650,000 and was funded by the state budget.
