MWSC to establish sewerage facilities in Kurendhoo, design sewerage facilities in Bodufolhudhoo

Ministry of Environment and Energy has contracted Male' Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC) to establish sewerage system in Kurendhoo in Lhaviyani Atoll and to survey and design of water and sewerage facilities in Bodufolhudhoo in Alifu Alifu Atoll. The agreements of the projects were signed by Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim and Managing Director of MWSC Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed.

Speaking at the ceremony, Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim stated currently there are 6 projects conducted across the country to establish sewerage services, which will be completed by the end of the year. The minister added the government will achieve the pledge to establish sewerage services in 75% of the inhabited islands, upon completion of the ongoing projects.

Moreover, Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed revealed MWSC has conducted 55 projects in the past 5 years.
