Spokesperson of the president-elect Mariya Ahmed Didi has called on the Elections Commission to announce the final results of the presidential election as soon as possible to facilitate the smooth transition of powers.
In a press brief, spokesperson Mariya Ahmed Didi stated a Director General of Transition must be appointed to investigate government authorities destroying documents and hiring staff during the transition period. In this regard, Mariya emphasised only a Director General of Transition can legally assess the government offices and ministries.
Furthermore, Mariya said it can only be achieved once the final results of the election are announced, calling the elections commission to announce the results as soon as possible.
A Director General of Transition is appointed by Civil Service Commission.
