Maldives Police Service and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) have urged the public to prioritise national interest and harmony, in addressing issues that surface during the transitional period.
The appeal was made during a joint media briefing by the security forces in the wake of the announcement of the official result of the presidential election. The institutions also reiterated their pledge to uphold the decision of the masses, which was evident from the result of the presidential election.
Both MNDF and the police force thanked the citizens for a smooth and peaceful election and congratulated President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
