President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam. The meeting held at the MNDF headquarters was also attended by Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid.
While the transition process has begun following his landslide victory in the presidential election held on September 23, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has begun meeting with heads of government institutions and staff. During the meetings, the president-elect has called on a smooth transition of powers.
Meanwhile, military personnel have assured to cooperate to ensure a smooth transition. Moreover, Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef Umar has stated military personnel will work professionally in all occasions, adding upholding a lawfully elected government is mandated to the military personnel.
