Opportunity opened to file complaints regarding the provisional list on constituencies

Elections Commission of Maldives has opened opportunity to file complaints regarding the provisional list on constituencies for Parliamentary Elections 2019.

The electoral body has opened until October 21 to file any complains every day from 0800 hours to 1500 hours, except on public holidays. 87 constituencies have been listed which is an addition of two constituencies compared to the 2014 Parliamentary Elections, both from the greater Male' region, according to the provisional report.

However, the Elections Commission has not mentioned the new constituencies in the provisional report. Elections Commission attributes additional constituencies to the change in the number of eligible voters. Currently, 85 constituencies are represented in the parliament.
