Spokesperson of President-Elect Mariya Ahmed Didi has expressed concern that a sitting member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) submitted a case regarding the presidential election on behalf of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to the Supreme Court.
Speaking to media expressing concerns over the case, the spokesperson stated all actions of the ruling party that followed since the acceptance of defeat by President Yameen is utterly unacceptable and of concern. President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih won a landslide victory with over 58% of the votes cast, noted Mariya. Therefore, she said the opposition coalition does not expect the Supreme Court will rule against a decisive ruling made by the citizens.
