Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer has assured the airport development projects carried out across Maldives are ongoing despite the political situation of the country.
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM News, Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer said if the projects are halted, the contractors carrying out the projects and the economy of Maldives will face major desolation. Noting some projects carried out by the private sector are not conducted at a preferred pace due to the political situation of the country, the tourism minister affirmed that no projects have been halted completely.
Furthermore, the minister stated even though it has been advised not to begin any new projects, many promotional activities are being held locally and internationally. He went on to note if the promotional activities were stopped, the tourism sector will face major challenges next year.
