Public Service Media (PSM) has been selected as a permanent member of the Belt and Road News Alliance (BRNA). In addition, Director, News and Current Affairs of PSM Fayaz Yoosuf was appointed as an editorial committee member of BRNA.
PSM being a member of BRNA will allow receiving international news and video faster and provides the opportunity to send local news to international platforms. While the editorial committee of BRNA consists of 10 members, Fayaz Yoosuf was selected with fourth most number of votes competing with 52 members.
The Belt and Road News Alliance (BRNA), is an international news media association, officially launched on May 14, 2017, jointly by CCTV News Content (CCTV+) of China and media organisations in countries involved in China's Belt and Road Initiative. As of September 2018, it includes 72 media organisations from 42 countries and regions.
