Parliamentarians of opposition coalition have once again prepared to file a no-confidence motion to oust the Parliament Speaker Abdulla Maseeh.
Speaking to PSM News, Parliamentarian Mohamed Waheed revealed parliamentarians representing the opposition coalition have now decided to file the no-confidence motion at the parliament tomorrow, adding a supermajority has signed the no-confidence motion.
PSM News has learnt that around 46 parliamentarians have so far signed the motion which include some from the ruling party which Maseeh represents. Earlier, the no-confidence motion on Maseeh was submitted to parliament floor twice, which failed.
The last amendment brought to Article 175 of the Regulation Governing the Proceedings of the Parliament, 42 signatures are needed to submit a no-confidence motion against the speaker or the deputy speaker.
