Australian Ambassador calls on Maldivian Foreign Minister

Ambassador of Australia to Maldives Bryce Hutchesson has called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Asim.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Asim and Ambassador Hutchesson discussed the existing bilateral relations between the Maldives and Australia and ways of further strengthening the existing ties particularly in human resource, security and regional development. In addition the foreign minister also provided updates on the political developments in the Maldives following the presidential election and the ongoing efforts in regards to the transition of government.

Ambassador Hutchesson assured his commitment to continue working closely with the Government of Maldives in further strengthening the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Australia. He was accompanied by Second Secretary of the Australian Embassy in Colombo Daniel Fisher.
