Environment Minister attends World Green Economy Summit

Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim has attended World Green Economy Summit (WGES) 2018 held from October 24 to 25 in Dubai, UAE.

WGES is one of the leading global forums on the green economy, bringing together world-class experts from around the world to directly focus on advancing the global green economy and sustainability agenda. The summit was organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and World Green Economy Organisation, in cooperation with Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and WETEX.

The environment minister attended the summit as a panellist at the Plenary Session 2: Driving the Green Economy in the National Agenda. The minister delivered a keynote speech during the summit where he actively engaged in multiple panel discussions.

In addition, Minister Thoriq also participated in the first high level conference of World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO), launched by the government of UAE to be owned by a wide range of stakeholders, including State and Non-State actors, to promote the green economy agenda, and to serve as an international platform dedicated to facilitating public and private partnerships, and promoting international cooperation and knowledge sharing.
