The vision of the future you want shall be drawn by you: President Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has stated the results of the September 23 polls show the vision the citizens desire for the future of Maldives shall be drawn by themselves.

Addressing throngs of supporters at the Artificial Beach after arriving in Male’ City, the former president reiterated they shall find the Maldives they sought and realise the dream of attaining that Maldives. In the presence of Sheikh Imran Abdulla and Gasim Ibrahim, recently freed leaders of opposition coalition partner parties, Nasheed said President- Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s efforts should never be forgotten by the citizens.

Speaking about the delivery of basic rights, Nasheed stated all provisions of the constitution direct towards providing a stable life for citizens, and the aim of the opposition coalition is to ensure the delivery of that right for citizens. He reiterated the opposition coalition’s stance that they cannot be pushed back, they shall not be tired and that they shall return and implement good governance for the citizens.

Speaking about development, the former president said the focal point of development of the Maldives is the family unit and focus should be on increasing the income each member of the family generates.

Former President Nasheed returned to Maldives after three years in exile.
