CEO of Diabetes Society of Maldives Aishath Shiruhana has revealed the number of Maldivians diagnosed with diabetes is increasing.
Speaking to PSM News regarding a family evening held by Diabetes Society of Maldives in commemoration of the World Diabetes Day marked on November 14, Aishath Shiruhana stated the number of patients registered are increasing. It is important to create awareness among the public on prevention and medication, noted Shiruhana. Noting mostly Maldivians are diagnosed with diabetes for their way of lives and foods used, Shiruhana said while the number of patients are increased, the age group has also been changed.
The Diabetes Society of Maldives held several activities in celebrations of the World Diabetes Day. In this regard, during the family evening, it held activities to aware the visitors and gave opportunity to test for diabetes.
