Maldives has participated in China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai, China. 9 companies along with Maldives Fisheries Promotion Board are taking part in the expo to promote and market seafood products.
The expo is held in efforts to give firm support to trade liberalisation and economic globalisation and actively open the Chinese market to the world. It facilitates countries and regions all over the world to strengthen economic cooperation and trade, and to promote global trade and world economic growth in order to make the world economy more open.
CIIE held from November 5-10 is expected to bring together more than 3,000 foreign companies from 130 countries around the world, offering them a platform to link up with potential buyers from the world's second biggest economy. Over 800 companies are participating in the expo this year.
